Dick Wilbur, co-owner of NAPA Auto Parts stores in Waterbury, Stowe, and Morrisville, Vermont, is excited about the agreement, which will again help support the season-long point fund for the NAPA Tiger Sportsman division.
“Thunder Road is a tremendous place to be involved with, and we really enjoy it a lot,” Wilbur said. “We don’t sponsor a single team or driver because people from eight or nine different race teams will come into one of our stores to buy parts on any given day. With that much interest, we feel it’s better for us help the Tiger Sportsman division as a whole, and in a way that supports everyone.”
In recent seasons, NAPA has held fundraisers for the Make-A-Wish fund during their annual Thunder Road events. “Thanks to Thunder Road’s race fans, our promotions have been an amazing success,” Wilbur said. “Over the past few seasons, we have helped collect over $25,000 for the Make-A-Wish kids, and that’s just incredible.”
The NAPA Auto Parts Tiger Sportsman division begins its 24th season of competition at Thunder Road on Sunday, May 1. The brand-new “Tiger Tour”, an eight-race, five-track series, opens with the Spring Green 100 at Airborne Raceway in Plattsburgh, NY on Saturday, May 7. Visit www.acttour.com for details.
