WATERBURY, VT - The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) released a six-race schedule for its Tiger Sportsman Series today (Jan 3) which features stops at four different tracks. Highlighting 2006 will be a stop at Quebec’s 1.3 km (7/8 mile) Sanair Super Speedway in conjunction with ACT’s Late Model Tour on Sunday, July 9.

For the second year the Sportsman schedule will kick off at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY with the Spring Green on Sat, May 6. The Series inherited the long-standing event from the Late Model Tour in 2005. Last year’s 100-lap race was won by eventual Series Champion and hometown favorite, Robin Wood. The D-shaped half-mile will also host the season ending Fall Foliage 100 on Sat/Sun, Sept 23/24. The closer will be a doubleheader with the Modifieds.

A pair of events will also be staged at the Series’ home track, Barre, Vermont’s Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl. The first, a 100 lapper Mother’s Day Special, is set for Sunday, May 14. The second event, on Thurs, June 22, will be comprised of Twin 55 lappers.

New Hampshire’s White Mountain Motorsports Park, in N. Woodstock, a high-banked quarter-mile oval will feature a 100-lap Tiger Sportsman Series on Sat, Aug 26. The Series made its second appearance at the Granite State speedplant in 2005 in an event won by newcomer, Joe Tetreault of Enfield, NH.

Season entries for the 2006 six-race ACT Tiger Sportsman Series are through the ACT office in Waterbury, VT. Drivers submitting a season entry prior to February 1 are entitled to a discounted rate.
