Fred LaGoy of Morrisonville, NY filed the first season entry for the 2006 American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Model Series. LaGoy, who was lured out of a quasi-retirement by last season's three $10,000 to win ACTion Super Series events found the 12-race schedule to his liking. "I'm particularly excited about the $10,000 to win race at Sanair (July 8-9) and the one at Ste-Croix (June 17)," LaGoy commented, "I'm more comfortable on the longer tracks since I have more experience on them, but I'm also looking forward to the challenge the shorter tracks present," he remarked. LaGoy cut his racing teeth at Plattsburgh, New York's Airborne Speedway, a D-shaped, half-mile oval which will host an ACT Tour event on July 22.

Also filing early entries are Milton, Vermont's Brent Dragon (who was third in the 2005 standings), Phil Scott of Montpelier, VT (winner of the 2005 Don MacTavish Memorial Award), David Avery of Lincoln, NH, five-time and defending champion, Jean-Paul Cyr from Milton, VT and Lancaster, New Hampshire's Roger Brown, winner of the 2005 "Most Improved Driver" Award at the recent ACT Banquet of Champions.

The 2006 ACT Late Model Tour kicks off on Sat/Sun, April 29/20 at Thunder Road Int'l Speedbowl, Barre, VT with the eighth annual Merchants Bank 150. Cyr is the only driver in the previous seven events to repeat in the annual lid-lifter. Dave Pembroke from Montpelier is the defending race winner. Thunder Road will host two additional ACT Tour shows, both part of the $10,000 to-win ACTion Super Series, the Bond Auto Labor Day Classic 200 on Sat/Sun, Sept 2/3 and the annual New England Dodge Dealers Milk Bowl, Sept 30/Oct 1.

Lee (NH) USA Speedway (May 19), and Seekonk (MA) Speedway (June 24), will each stage a single ACT Tour race while White Mountain Motorsports Park, N. Woodstock, NH (June 10 and Aug 12), and Maine's Oxford Plains Speedway (July 29 and Aug 19) each have two scheduled.

Drivers wanting a 2006 ACT Tour season entry should contact the ACT office as soon as possible at (802-244-6963) as the entry deadline is February 1.
