"I love the White Mountain track and I've finished among the top three there, but it seems, at least in the spring race, that Jean (Paul Cyr) is always in front of me," Dragon said with a chuckle. The veteran second-generation racer shook his head in partial disbelief when informed that multi-time Tour Champion, Cyr has, in fact, won ACT's past three June events.
"I'd sure like to put an end to his win streak at White Mountain," the driver of the Kinney Drugs Dodge continued, "We went to Thunder Road (last Sunday) to check out the car and make sure it was all set following the problem I had at Lee (USA Speedway, Lee, NH) when the clutch broke which sent me into the second turn barrier. Plus, the Memorial Day Classic is quite an historic event, one that would be great to have your name on the list of winners. And at 100 laps, I was hoping to try some things in preparation for the two $10,000 to win ACTion Super Series races at Thunder Road later in the season. As it turns out, I've got a win in a race that Jean's never won," he finished with a grin.
Dragon and Cyr, both residents of Milton, VT, have been friends and competitors since their elementary school days, both on and off the track.
Cyr looks for to continue his dominance of the White Mountain 100 and Dragon looks to unseat him on Saturday, June 10. Post time is 5:00 pm.
