Sophomore ACT Tour competitor, Marc Curtis Jr of Worcester, MA was gifted with four Goodyear Eagle racing tires for use at the recent Sanair Super Speedway Mega Classique, held July 8/9 at the 7/8ths mile paved tri-oval. The Mega Classique’s $10,000 top prize was won by Ben Rowe of Turner, ME.
A third drawing will be held to award tires for the final ACTion Super Series race, the 43rd annual New England Dodge Dealers Milk Bowl, Sat, Sept 30/Sun, Oct 1. The Milk Bowl will also take place at Thunder Road.
“It’s a great benefit to be in the running to win tires for the two upcoming ACTion Super Series races,” said Mark Lamberton from Mooers Forks, NY who sits second in the ACT Tour point standings behind leader Jean-Paul Cyr. “Even though ACT limits the number of tires we can purchase or use at any given event, tires are a big expense for any race team. Knowing that I’d be eligible for the three tire draws was all the incentive I needed to get my entry in by the deadline. I’ve got my fingers crossed that I’ll win one of the two remaining sets of tires,” he finished.
The ACTion Super Series, introduced in 2005, consists of a trio of $10,000 to win races for Late Model stock cars. A few weeks ago, at the 7/8ths mile Sanair Super Speedway tri-oval, 64 drivers from all New England states, plus New York, Quebec and Ontario, attempted to qualify for the 43 car starting field. Over 50 are expected for each of the upcoming Thunder Road ACTion Super Series events.
