Heavy Hitters Looking for First SÚrie ACT Castrol Victory of Season

Déry has three Top 5s in three Série ACT Castrol starts this season

Série ACT Castrol point leader Jean-François Déry of Val-Belair is searching for his first victory of the season, and is among the favorites to win at Autodrome Montmagny Speedway on Saturday.  Déry finished second to Donald Theetge at the 3/8-mile high-banked oval on May 19, and has finished among the top five in all three events on the Série ACT Castrol this season.

Déry is joined at the top of the list of potential winners by third-place point man Karl Allard of St-Félicien and number-five driver Patrick Laperle of St-Denis.  Allard finished sixth at the Paradis du Sport 100 at Montmagny last month, and is just a single point behind second-place driver and Toromont CAT 100 winner (Capital City Speedway, Ottawa, June 9) Alexandre Gingras of Québec (223-222).  Déry leads with 241 points.

Laperle finished third one week ago at the Toromont CAT 100, and trails Déry by 35 points, only four points behind Autodrome St-Eustache winner (May 26) Normand Lavigueur of Laval.  Other potential winners include Top 10 point drivers Steven Boissonneault, Marc-André Cliche, and former Autodrome Montmagny Speedway winner Sylvain Lacombe.

Teenager Kevin Roberge of Levis leads a tight Rookie of the Year battle over Eric St-Gelais, Spencer MacPherson, Jonathan Desbiens, and Stephane Durand.  The five drivers are separated by a mere eight points in the rookie standings.

Green flag qualifying action for the Montmagny 100 is scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm on Saturday.  Autodrome Montmagny Speedway is located off Exit 378 on Autoroute 20 in St-Pierre-Montmagny, QC.  For more information, call (802) 244-6963, or visit or
