"We found a little `bo-bo' in the car after the win at St-Eustache (July 28)," Laperle stated in Victory Lane. The veteran racer was thrilled with his car as it handled anywhere he put it on the fast Ste-Croix oval. "Basically, we kissed it and made it all better," he added with a grin. The fact that Laperle is even racing this season let alone winning races and leading the point standings is rather miraculous. Following a minor surgical procedure earlier this year Laperle developed a severe infection. He was hospitalized for several weeks before being released just prior to opening day. He was able to start that first race of the year before turning the wheel over to his cousin Jacques Laperle.
Steven Boissonneault from Lyster, Qc finished fourth and Milton, Vermont's Ryan Nolin rounded out the top five. Completing the top ten were Marc-Andre Cliche in sixth, Jacques Poulin, Jean-Francois Dery, Claude Leclerc and Karl Allard.
There were six lead changes among five drivers during the race which included 12 caution periods.
