ACT Announces New Champions Program
The American Canadian Tour has partnered with the Quebec Sportsman Series to provide a new contingency program for their racers in Eastern Canada called the ACT New Champions Program.The New Champions Program provides a $100 bonus to the highest finishing driver in each event of the Quebec Sportsman Series who has not won a race in 2013. It will start with the winner of their first event.
“We’ve seen many stars come up through the ranks of the Quebec Sportsman Series and onto our ACT Canadian Series,” said ACT President Tom Curley. “The Sportsman Series is full of top talent, and we are excited to work with such a great series on developing that talent into future Canadian Champions,” he finished.
ACT stars like feature winners Dany Trepanier and Patrick Hamel, ACT Rookie of the year Etienne Cliche, as well as Gaetan Lauzier, Patrick Boyer, and Simon Roussin have all made the jump from the Quebec Sportsman Series, which run many of the same tracks as ACT Canada.
The 2013 ACT Canadian Series season will begin on Saturday, May 25 at Autodrome Montmagny for a 100-lap season opening event. The Series has undergone major changes in the offseason, including the largest purse in series history with over $400,000 on the line, including an $80,000 point fund for teams who participate in 100% of the events. Another $70,000 in tire bonus money will be spread amongst the teams that run all ACT Canada events.
