Pit Notes: NHMS Practice – Morning Session

A total of 36 American Canadian Tour Late Model teams attended a day of practice at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH on Tuesday, August 19. The teams are preparing for the 6th annual Bond Auto ACT Invitational on Saturday, September 20.

The morning session of practice saw Aaron Fellows of Croydon, NH set the fast time at 32.051 seconds, which is an average speed of 118.8 mph. Fellows has recently returned to ACT competition after suffering a hard accident during the ACT Spring Green at Devil’s Bowl Speedway back in June. He and his team had hoped to get the car put back together in time for the Invitational. Obviously they accomplished that and their hard work paid off during the morning session.

Another New Hampshire driver in Guy Caron set the second fastest time of the morning and was consistently at the top of the time charts. Jimmy Hebert, Quebec’s Martin Latulippe and former Bond ACT Invitational winner Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. were among the top five in fast times during morning practice.

2014 ACT event winner Jeff White, Tom Carey, Jr., two-time ACT champion Wayne Helliwell, Jr., Serie ACT current point leader Alex Labbe and ACT rookie Brian Tagg completed the top ten fastest times. Tagg was very impressive for his first time on the “Magic Mile”. He spent the morning running in traffic using both lanes and gaining valuable experience.

ACT Late Models are back on the track for their afternoon practice session. This afternoon’s practice will feature a pair of simulated races.
