ACT Tour Title Tilt Continues at Historically Wide-Open Beech Ridge


The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) continues its Maine swing this Saturday, August 8 with their annual trip to Scarborough’s Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. The eight previous ACT Tour events at the 1/3-mile oval have seen eight different winners, leaving this year’s Beech Ridge 150 up for grabs.

Former Beech Ridge Pro Series Champion Brad Babb of Windham, ME will try to become the ninth different winner. Babb was fighting for the victory in the Oxford Plains 150 with Hudson, NH’s Joey Polewarczyk Jr. two weeks ago when the two made contact with four laps remaining; Babb eventually spun and was relegated to an 11th-place finish while “Joey Pole” went on to his fourth win of the season.

Trépanier Gets First Série ACT Win of Season at Autodrome St-Felicien


Série American-Canadian Tour (ACT) point leader Dany Trépanier broke into the winner’s circle for the first time this season by capturing the St-Felicien 150 at Quebec’s Autodrome St-Felicien on Saturday, August 1.


The St-Edourard, QC driver won the first segment of the two-segment event, leading the final 19 laps en route to the win. Trépanier then finished second to former Série ACT Champion Jean-François Déry in the second segment to take the overall win with a combined score of three points. It is the third Série ACT win of Trépanier’s career and first since July 2014.

Allard Disqualified From Série ACT Chaudiere 150

American-Canadian Tour (ACT) officials have announced the disqualification of Karl Allard from the Chaudiere 150 held at Autodrome Chaudiere in Vallée-Jct., QC on July 11 and 12.

Allard crossed the finish line in fifth place, but was found to have an illegally altered left-front tire during post-race technical inspection, which was recently confirmed by the team after the tire was sent to American Racer headquarters for further evaluation.

ACT Awards American Racer Three Stars for Oxford Plains 150

The American Racer Three Star program is designed to recognize three teams in no particular order of performance that had outstanding races at American-Canadian Tour (ACT) U.S. Tour events. There are no specific criteria for deciding who might receive the award of a free American Racer Tire (value $125.00), but a special effort by a team, exceptional race, just plain old hard luck, or any other accepted reason is used to decide the award recipients.

The Three Stars are chosen by ACT officials and will receive certificates for use of a free American Racer tire at a race of their choosing during the 2015 season.

Polewarczyk Completes Season Sweep at Oxford After Late Incident


Joey Polewarczyk Jr. won his fourth American-Canadian Tour (ACT) event of the season in the Oxford Plains 150 at Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway on Saturday, July 25 after a late incident while fighting with Brad Babb for the lead.

Hudson, NH’s “Joey Pole” took the lead for the final time with four laps remaining after he and Babb made contact racing for the top spot in turn one. Babb slid up the track before gathering the car, but subsequently lost control exiting turn two and spun to bring out the caution.

ACT Tour Resumes Championship Chase at Oxford Plains


The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) resumes its 2015 championship chase this Saturday, July 25 at Oxford, ME’s Oxford Plains Speedway. The Oxford Plains 150 is the eighth on the ACT Tour’s 13-race schedule and their second visit of the season to the 3/8-mile oval. The event was previously scheduled for June 27 before being postponed.

The second half of the year will see the continued championship battle between New Hampshire veterans Wayne Helliwell Jr. and Joey Polewarczyk Jr. Two-time ACT Tour Champion Wayne Helliwell Jr. holds a 17-point lead over defending Champion “Joey Pole” with each driver recording three wins to date.

Sweet Caps “Rollercoaster” Weekend with ACT International Win

Nick Sweet showed why he's one of the top American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Model drivers in the Northeast on Sunday, July 19, capping a whirlwind two days by winning the ACT International at Plattsburgh, NY's Airborne Park Speedway.

Barre, VT's Sweet took the lead for the final time on lap 192 of the 200-lap event, beating out Alex Labbé on the final restart. The Thunder Road Late Model point leader will take home more than $10,000 for the win after lap-leader money and contingencies. The victory was also a redemption for Sweet after finishing second in the event in 2014.

Despite No Practice, Sweet on Pole for ACT International

Sweet almost didn't make it to qualifying for the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) International 500 at Airborne Park Speedway on Saturday – but he arrived just in time to win the pole for the ACT Late Model 200-lap, $10,000-to-win feature on Sunday, July 19.

Barre, VT's Sweet, whose wife has been dealing with complications surrounding the impending early arrival of his third child, decided at the last minute to make the trip for the event. He and his Eric Chase–owned #40VT Late Model team pulled into the pits as the final ACT practice session of the day was wrapping up.

The third running of the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) International 500 on Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19 at Plattsburgh, NY's Airborne Park Speedway promises to be one of the most star-studded stock car racing events of the 2015 season. Two-time ACT Tour Champion and current point leader Wayne Helliwell Jr. returns to challenge for the International win after finishing ninth in the 2013 event. He previously captured the 2012 Fall Foliage 200 at Airborne, securing his first Tour Championship in the process.
