The American-Canadian Tour is just over two weeks away from opening its 2018 season at Lee USA Speedway on Sunday, April 15 with the annual New Hampshire Governor’s Cup. While defending ACT Late Model Tour Champion Scott Payea enters the opener as the title frontrunner, a number of other drivers are preparing their own run at the $10,000 champion’s purse.

After finally breaking through for his first American-Canadian Tour (ACT) championship in 2017, Colchester’s Scott Payea is ready to return to the fold in 2018. Payea and his Rick Paya–led RPM Motorsports/Harrison Redi-Mix team will begin their title defense at the season-opening New Hampshire Governor’s Cup on Sunday, April 15 at Lee USA Speedway.

Payea is coming off one the best ACT seasons in recent memory. The veteran won five of the nine events in 2017, including a series-record four straight. The effort earned him the championship after previously finishing second in the standings four times.

Autodrome Chaudière officials announced today that an agreement has been reached with American-Canadian Tour (ACT) co-owner Cris Michaud and Serié ACT representative Marc-Patrick Roy to add a second event this season at the Vallée-Jonction, QC speedway.

Série ACT will now head to Autodrome Chaudiere, which is located in the Beauce region south of Quebec City, on Saturday, June 2 for a 125-lap event. The date comes in addition to their originally scheduled visit for Saturday, July 28.

Big money will be on the line in a trio of American-Canadian Tour (ACT) events this season as part of the 2018 Summer Showdown Series. ACT officials announced the series today, which includes three $5,000-to-win events as part of the ACT Late Model Tour schedule.

The ACT Summer Showdown Series will be held at three different tracks in three New England states, testing drivers throughout the region. The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) honored some of the top performers of the 2017 season at the ACT Banquet of Champions on Saturday, February 24. Drivers, car owners, crew members, and officials all gathered at the Capitol Plaza in Montpelier, VT to celebrate their accomplishments and officially wrap up the 32nd season of ACT competition.

Milton, VT’s Scott Payea, along with car owner Rick Paya, were officially recognized as the 2017 ACT Late Model Tour Champions. For Payea, it was a long-awaited first ACT championship, while the title marked Paya’s ninth in ACT competition.

American-Canadian Tour (ACT) officials have announced plans to test the Chevrolet CT350 “GM 602” crate engine in select events during the 2018 racing season. The results will be used to evaluate the engine for future use in ACT competition.

A car using the 350-horsepower GM 602 power plant will enter several ACT Late Model Tour events during the first part of the season. The testing will be performed by a team that does not normally compete on the Tour.

Robbie Crouch, the winningest driver in the history of the American-Canadian Tour (ACT), has been elected to the Vermont Sports Hall of Fame. The organization recently announced that the Tampa, FL native and longtime Milton, VT resident will be a member of the Class of 2018.

American-Canadian Tour (ACT) officials announced today that they have finalized the point fund for the 2018 ACT Late Model Tour season. A total of $40,750 has been posted in season-ending awards, a total increase of nearly $10,000 over the 2017 season.

The 2018 ACT Late Model Tour champion will receive the same $10,000 point fund award as they have in recent seasons. However, substantial increases have been posted for much of the top-10. Second place in the final standings for the upcoming season will receive $6,000, while the third-place finisher is slated to earn $4,500. Fourth and fifth place will collect $3,500 and $3,000, respectively.
