Talman, Pearl, Fanning and Roy Crowned 2023 Thompson Track Champions

Thompson, CT­ — While sunshine brought fans and teams back to Thompson Speedway in droves to wrap up the 2023 season at the 5/8-mile oval, both groups were also welcomed with good news. It was announced at the drivers meeting on Sunday that the partnership between the American-Canadian Tour and Pro All Stars Series organizations will continue to lease the Thompson Speedway oval for the 2024 season. What remained was a day of championship crowning, heart-stopping action to round out the 61st Sunoco World Series.

Thompson, CT ­— With rains hanging heavy over the Northeast corner of Connecticut on Saturday morning, and a dismal forecast predicted throughout the rest of the day, American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) officials have made the decision to postpone the originally-scheduled Saturday program of the 61st Sunoco World Series to tomorrow, Sunday October 8. The move will create a Sunoco World Series Super Show with over 10 divisions on tap on Sunday to wrap up the iconic bookending weekend!

Thompson, CT ­— Although rains dampened much of Friday’s planned mid-day practice sessions, the 61 Sunoco World Series was able to start off with a bang as the Milton CAT Modified Racing Series and Mighty Mini Stock Tour were both able to crown their touring champions and the Thompson Late Models saw a return champion in victory lane. Throw in some vintage racing, a hard-nosed open Street Stock showdown and the first of three Sunoco Modified events, the 61st Sunoco World Series began in great style!

Three days of racing will seal up the season for both the Thompson track championship divisions and multiple touring series during the annual showcase of Northeast stock car racing. Barre, VT and Naples, ME ­— After months of planning, American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) officials are excited to announce the planned schedule and divisions for the three-day 61st Sunoco World Series of Speedway Racing at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park beginning on Friday, October 6 and culminating on Sunday, October 8. 16 divisions of racing are set to join the annual festival that will feature everything from full-fendered Super Late Models and Street Stocks through the Mighty Tour-type Modifieds of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, Pro Trucks, NEMA Midgets and more!
