Puleo, Morgan, Chapman and Roy Clean Up Thompson Championship Wins

Thompson, CT — A much nicer day awaited fans on day two of the 50th Icebreaker at Thompson Speedway. Six star-studded features took to the 0.625-mile oval on Sunday, as did the peaks of sunshine to greet the fans in the stands. While the Street Stocks were able to start their 2024 track championship season on Saturday, the rest of the track championship line-up got their year started with plenty of action on Sunday along with the roar of the mighty NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour with their return to Icebreaker weekend.

Thompson, CT — A partly cloudy day was had at Thompson Speedway’s Saturday opener to the 50th Icebreaker weekend with plenty of rain to darken the spirits on an exciting opening day schedule of events. The crew at Thompson Speedway kept the track dry enough to get in full feature events for both the Thompson Street Stocks and the PASS Super Late Models but the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series was a casualty to the rain and will be postponed to the Friday of World Series weekend on October 11.

Barre, VT and Naples, ME — When the roar of the mighty NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour returns to Connecticut’s quiet corner this Sunday afternoon, it’ll be the 153rd time the series has tackled the iconic highbanks of Thompson Speedway and the first time in four years that the Tour has competed on Icebreaker weekend. The Icebreaker 150 for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour is set as the first homebase battle for the Northeast teams who regularly compete on the fan-favorite Tour.

Saturday’s opener sets the stage for the 85th season of stock car racing on the Thompson highbanks with the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series headlining the show for their series debut at the Big-T. The Constantine Paving & Sealing Icebreaker 75 will feature some of the biggest names in open wheel modified racing and kicks off an expanded eleventh season for the popular touring series in 2024!

Barre, VT and Naples, ME — Officials from the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) announced today that they have inked a partnership with AZ Roofing, located in Bristol, Connecticut. They are the official roofing company and title sponsor of the popular SK Light Modified division at Thompson Speedway. The AZ Roofing SK Lights will compete at the 0.625-mile speedway throughout the 2024 season as a part of the expanded twelve date schedule put together by oval track promoters ACT and PASS.

Barre, VT and Naples, ME — Officials from the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) announced Monday that they have renewed their partnership with the Boston Beer Company for a fifth consecutive year at Connecticut’s Thompson Speedway. Boston Beer, through its popular Twisted Tea brand, will serve as the headline sponsor for a pair of Thursday Night Specials slated for June 13th and July 25th.  

Barre, VT & Naples, ME ­— Officials with the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) have announced the nine division slate, schedule and pricing for the opening weekend of the 2024 New England racing season with the iconic 50th Icebreaker at Thompson Speedway. Following Practice Day on Friday, April 5, the 50th Icebreaker starts in earnest on Saturday, April 6 before wrapping up on Sunday, April 7.

Barre, VT & Naples, ME ­— Officials with the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) announced today that Massachusetts law firm Eden Rafferty has signed on as a year-long contingency partner with the Street Stock division at Thompson Speedway in 2024. $2,000 will be awarded throughout the ten-race Street Stock season to the winner, runner-up and the ‘Lucky 7’ seventh-place finisher in each track championship event this season.

Barre, VT & Naples, ME ­— Officials with the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) released the 2024 purse structure for the weekly track championship divisions at the Thompson Speedway oval. With the introduction of the Sunoco 604 Modifieds comes their launch to the top of the heap, a $1,500-to-win, $200-to-start purse will be in place for the new division in 2024 as excitement continues to mount for the upcoming season.
