Championship Picture Comes into Focus for Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour at Oxford Plains Speedway
/ACT Tri-State Flying Tiger Champion to be Crowned in Vacationland 75
Barre, VT — Following the non-point excitement of the 63rd Vermont Milk Bowl nearly two weeks ago at Thunder Road Speedbowl, the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour faithful are ready to pull the straps tight once again with a trip to another of the Tour’s longtime homes. Oxford Plains Speedway started a legacy with the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour back in 1980 and this Saturday’s Pine Tree State 125 presented by Wellman Paving is just the latest in a multi-generational legacy in the great State of Maine.
The Pine Tree State 125 comes hot on the heels of what has been an all-out season for Larue Motorsports and driver Raphael Lessard. Coming off two dominant seasons in Serie ACT Quebec, Lessard was a dark horse runner in April but quickly shook off that moniker in an incredible breakout season in the States. While the Oxford doubleheader during 250 weekend in August was earmarked as their greatest challenge of the season, Lessard overcame an opening night, ill-handling 17th place finish just to take the runner-up spot the next evening!
While Lessard looks to nail down the championship a week early, six drivers are mathematically standing in his way. Currently second in the standings, D.J. Shaw is set to have a very busy PASS 400 weekend at Oxford. Shaw is deep in the PASS Super Late Model championship chase with Johnny Clark and will run well over 750 laps at the Maine oval this weekend! Also looking to take in every lap this weekend is Gabe Brown as the fellow Center Conway driver goes trophy hunting as the season winds down.
While Vermonters Jesse Switser and Kaiden Fisher are also looking for another ‘W’ on the downhill slope, one driver stands out among all others in the hunt for redemption. Erick Sands has been knocking on the bricks of Oxford’s victory lane, gaining a few podium spots over the years but once again looks to finally seal the deal for the win at a track he’s had plenty of both heartbreak and success.
Derek Gluchacki and Alexendre ‘Fireball’ Tardif also look for some redemption after a pair of strong runs in August, alongside Jonathan Bouvrette, Cole Littlewood, Remi Perreault and Justin Storace. Among the invaders will be a strong New Hampshire contingent including Brian Whalley, Jamie Swallow Jr., Ryan Olsen and the ACT debut of Star Speedway runner Holdyn Sullivan. Maine will send along Brandon Barker, Troy Patterson and Colby Meserve while rumors abound about several Southern New England drivers looking to make the trip.
Saturday will also feature the championship round in the ACT Tri-State Flying Tiger Series as Jason Woodard looks to wrap up the championship over the likes of Mike Martin, Logan Powers, Sam Caron, Brendan Moodie and more! The annual trip across Route 2 for the Flying Tigers has become a great season ending showdown for ‘North America’s #1 Support Division’ and expect these drivers to let it all hang out in one final drive of the 2025 season!
The Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour returns to Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway to headline the Saturday, October 18 portion of an incredibly action packed PASS 400 weekend! The Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour will run the rain-delayed Pine Tree State 125 presented by Wellman Paving while the ACT Tri-State Flying Tiger Series will crown their 2025 champion with the Vacationland 75! Racing action starts Saturday at 1:30pm, visit www.oxfordplains.com for ticketing information.
