Gabe Brown Goes for Two-in-a-Row on the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour with Community Bank 150 Victory
/Travel Teams Shock the Locals with Podium Sweep!
Barre, VT — In a rare turn of events at the Nation’s Site of Excitement Sunday afternoon, three traveling members of the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour shocked the usually dominant hometown defenders at Thunder Road International Speedbowl with a sweep of the victory lane podium!
Thirty-five Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour drivers entered the Thunder Road pit area vying for starting position in the 28th annual Community Bank, n.a. 150 on Sunday. Three rounds of qualifying events whittled them down to twenty-nine starters on the grid. Current number-two point man Jake ‘The Jet’ Johnson earned the pole position with a ‘+4’ handicap alongside 2025 Serie ACT Quebec champion Jeff Côté in just his first visit to the Barre highbanks.
Côté quickly shot to the top spot from the outside pole with Thunder Road regulars Justin Prescott, Taylor Hoar and front-running ACT point man Gabe Brown riding in the top five. Meanwhile, the two most recent Thunder Road Kings of the Road, Kaiden Fisher and Jason Corliss, waged a side-by-side battle for seventh throughout the early goings.
2023 Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour champion D.J. Shaw made his first start of the 2026 season nad began knocking on the top-five door in the early run. With twenty-five laps down, Johnson turned up the wick with plenty of pressure from Prescott on his tail. The Jet slid under Côté in a side-by-side fight for the lead with the 91CT leading lap 34. As lap traffic came into play, Jesse Switser and Brown worked into the top three, chasing down Johnson.
By lap 58 Brown found himself in the lead, continuing to grow the distance between himself and Johnson as he flashed through lap traffic prior to the first caution on lap 88 for the spinning Brooks Clark and Jimmy Renfrew Jr. Back under green the best battle saw Corliss, Prescott and Fisher battling under a bedsheet for fourth all the way to the second and final caution on lap 147 for Cooper Bouchard’s dust-up with the turn four wall.
The final three laps were no contest for Gabe Brown who elected the outside lane and ran away with his first career Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour victory at Thunder Road in the 28th annual Community Bank, n.a. 150. Johnson and Switser had a three-lap drag race to the end with Johnson getting second at the line over Switser in a last-ditch effort at the line. The touring driver-exclusive podium is the first for the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour at Thunder Road since September 1994 where Maine’s Mike Rowe won the Parts Plus 100 over Brad Leighton and Tracy Gordon.
Kaiden Fisher bested Jason Corliss for fourth to round out the top five. Two-time and defending Vermont Milk Bowl champion Marcel Gravel came home sixth after starting 20th followed by Shaw, Prescott, Côté and leading rookie Jacob ‘Rowdy’ Burns to round out the top-ten.
The Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour continues its early season grind with the fourth event in as many weeks at the Star Speedway in Epping, New Hampshire for the Coastal Clash 150 on Saturday, May 9. Joining the Pro All Stars Series Super Late Models, PASS Modifieds and the New England Supermodified Series, the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour Coastal Clash 150 is also the start of the Brookside Equipment Sales Triple Crown with a 4:30pm Post Time.
