Technical Infraction Discovered at White Mountain Motorsports Park Leads to Indefinite Suspension
/Barre, VT — At the conclusion of White Mountain Motorsports Park’s (WMMP) Midseason Championship Late Model feature event on Saturday, July 11, tech inspectors seized a shock absorber from apparent fourth-place finisher Richie Brown in post-race technical inspection. After deeper analysis by QA1 at their Lakeville, Minnesota headquarters this week, the shock in question was deemed illegal by the manufacturer leading to penalties by the American-Canadian Tour office.
Following the discovery and analysis, Richie Brown has been stripped of his fourth-place finish and all points earned at White Mountain Motorsports Park for the 2026 season. Brown has also been suspended from any ACT-sanctioned competition, indefinitely, while Crew Chief Richard Brown has been levied a $2,500 fine. Richie Brown will be allowed to apply for reinstatement after January 1, 2027.
“Tom Curley instituted spec shocks and it’s cost saving measures have been a major factor in the growth and success of the ACT Late Model,” said ACT and WMMP managing partner Cris Michaud. “Any infraction of our shock program is absolutely unacceptable and will incur major fines and penalties.”
